"Whatever you do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it." -Goethe

I have been creating art since I was a child. Paper and pencil were always readily handy, so I used them to entertain myself and to bring myself into an imaginary world of happiness, filled with animal critters and companionship. Throughout school and later college, I filled the margins of my school papers with doodles. Luckily my teachers never made me stop. Taking college classes dedicated entirely to art was a dream come true. After several years of studying design, color theory, composition and classical realism, I began painting my doodles. This is how "Artimals," my whimsical animal and nature themed paintings, were born. I spend time carefully considering the titles of my paintings. Sometimes a name comes to me right away, as if the critter on the painting speaks it to me. Other times I think for a few days or even weeks before settling on a title.

I am very fortunate that not just kids, but adults of all ages enjoy the bold colors and playful nature of my art. The continuous comments and smiles truly fuel my passion for creating.  I appreciate everyone who has been gracious enough to share with me their perceptions of my paintings. I believe that surrounding ourselves with art that makes us happy has a positive impact on our moods and therefore our lives and the people around us. In addition, I give back to the world by donating a portion of all of my sales to animal and/or non-profit organizations.

When I am not at an art event, I can usually be found painting in my studio. I am always developing new work. My latest projects involve sharing my art with pediatric hospitals and animal facilities and a kids book series.
